Last updated: [DATE OF LEGAL SIGN-OFF]
Ignite24x7 ("we", "us", "our") operates the learn.ignite24x7.com learning platform and the ignite24x7.com marketing website (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the rights you have over it, in accordance with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") and other applicable law.
1. Data We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal data:
- Account data: name, email address, and password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text).
- Course activity: enrollments, lesson/quiz progress, quiz scores, assignment submissions, and certificate/badge records.
- Payment data: for paid courses, payment is processed by Razorpay. We store the order ID, payment ID, amount, and payment status — we do not receive or store your card, UPI, or bank details; those are handled entirely by Razorpay under its own privacy policy.
- Support communications: messages you send to support@ignite24x7.com.
- Usage data: log-in timestamps and basic device/browser information, collected automatically for security and platform reliability.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use personal data only for the following purposes:
- Providing your account, course access, and certificates.
- Processing payments and preventing payment fraud.
- Responding to support requests.
- Sending course-related communications (e.g. enrollment confirmation, certificate issuance). Marketing emails, if any, will always include an unsubscribe option.
- Meeting legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
We do not sell personal data to third parties.
3. Data Sharing
We share personal data only with the following categories of processors, each solely to operate the Service:
- Razorpay — payment processing for paid course purchases.
- Our email/SMTP provider — transactional emails (enrollment confirmations, password resets, certificates).
- Our hosting provider — infrastructure hosting the Service.
We do not transfer personal data outside India except as strictly necessary to operate these processors, and only in a manner consistent with the DPDP Act.
4. Data Retention
We retain account and course-activity data for as long as your account is active, and for [RETENTION PERIOD — e.g. 3 years] after account closure to meet legal, tax, and dispute-resolution obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymized. Payment transaction records are retained as required by Indian tax law.
5. Your Rights
Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
- Request erasure of your personal data, subject to our legal retention obligations (e.g. payment records).
- Withdraw consent for any processing based on consent, at any time.
- Nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of death or incapacity.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@ignite24x7.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by the DPDP Act.
6. Grievance Officer / Data Protection Contact
[NAME OF GRIEVANCE OFFICER / DPO], reachable at privacy@ignite24x7.com, is responsible for addressing any grievance regarding the processing of your personal data. We aim to acknowledge grievances within 7 days and resolve them within the period prescribed by the DPDP Act.
7. Data Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards (encrypted connections, hashed passwords, access controls) to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's Data
The Service is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children as defined under the DPDP Act. [If the Service is intended for a lower minimum age, or requires verifiable parental consent, update this section accordingly before publishing.]
